Notable for her SIIMA Award-nominated performance as Swathi in the 2013 Kannada film Googly, Kharbanda appeared in a number of other Kannada and Telugu movies, including, respectively, Prem Adda and Teen Maar.
Before beginning her film acting career, she studied jewelry design at Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College and worked as a model and commercial actress. She appeared in her first film, Boni, in 2009.
In 2014, she was filming four separate Kannada features.
A member of a Punjabi family, she spent her youth in New Delhi and Bangalore, India.
She was cast opposite Upendra in the 2014 film Super Ranga.
